Provider Ranking
This document provides you with instructions on how to set up and use the Provider Ranking feature. The following calculations can be added to search results grid and to each provider’s profile within the Clinical/Community Resources module:
Authorizations
Overall Ranking: This combines the ranking scores for the Provider Ranking Level and the Feedback Average Ranking. The Rank Weighting from Program Options factors into the calculations that determine the overall score
Provider Ranking Level: Displays the Level # average, from level the Ranking Level Percentage in Program Options, that each authorization falls within
Authorization Count: The total # of authorizations included in the calculations. Only includes authorizations from cases that are closed
Ranking Level Percentage: Overall percentage of sessions completed for authorizations included in the calculations
Authorized Session Total: The total # of authorizations included in the calculations
Session Used Total: The total # sessions included in the calculations
Session Cost Total: The sum of all rates for each session included in the calculations
Session Cost Average: The average rate for all sessions included in the calculations
2. Feedback
Feedback Total: The total # of Feedbacks included in the calculations
Feedback Average Ranking: Displays an average score based on the sum of Feedback Scores associated with each Feedback Type.
3. Create Ranking Parameters
a. Click on Tools
b. Click on Show Options – Program Options
4. Enter the following information:
a. Click on the Provider Ranking tab. If you are setting this up for the first time, you will need to use the Customize Layout feature to drag the fields on to your Program Options form
b. Enter the Provider Ranking Days. This field determines how many days in the past the ranking calculations will go to retrieve the data. The start date will be the date you run the ranking calculations
c. The Provider Ranking Session Minimum Count determines the minimum # of sessions required in authorization to be included in the calculations
d. The Provider Ranking Session Minimum Used Count determines the minimum # of sessions required in authorization to be included in the calculations where ‘Count As Session’ is checked
e. The Provider Ranking Feedback Minimum Count determines the minimum # of Feedbacks required to be included in the calculations.
f. The Authorization Ranking Levels determine the Level (ranking #) to display for each Provider. Based on the levels set in the example below, if a provider uses 30% of their authorized sessions, they would be given a ranking of 2 as they fall between 26% and 50%. To add a Level, click on the New button. To edit and existing Level, double click on the row to open
g. The Rank Weighting determines the weighting of each Ranking Type for the Overall Ranking calculations. Please ensure that the Weight % column adds up to 100%.
5. Add Feedback Rankings to Feedback Types:
a. Click the Feedback Type
b. Click Edit
c. Enter the Feedback Ranking #. The higher the number, the more negative the issue. The example below, 5 is the highest (more severe) attributed to complaint. 1 would be considered positive i.e. a compliment
d. Save and Close
6. To run the Provider Ranking calculations
a. Click on Tools
b. Click on Provider Ranking
c. Click on Run For All Provider to have the calculations run for all providers
d. To run for a single or multiple provider(s), click on the drop down to make your selection(s) and then click on Run For Specific Provider. A confirmation message will appear when complete
