Creating a new user in EAP Expert

When creating a new user in EAP Expert.


Step-by-step guide

To create a new user log in for EAP Expert:

  1. Click 'New', at the top left hand of the screen, go to 'Staff/Counselor'
  2. Create either a new Staff or new Counselor record
    Staff - For user accounts only doing adminsitrative things in the application, and will never do counseling or take cases. Cannot be assigned as the Primary Counselor for a file
    Counselor - For user accounts that will be doing counseling and taking cases.
  3. Fill in the user information (Name, any attributes, etc.) and then click 'Make User'
  4. The system will then prompt you to create a username, and temporary password for the user. (It will provide a temporary password, but this can be changed)
  5. Once you enter in that information and confirm, click on Save or Save & Close to actually save the clinical record and all the changes you just made.
  6. By default the user will be granted the same security roles that are assigned to you. You will want to remove or add security roles as needed for the user (you do not want to delete a role, as this will delete the role itself, which will affect everyone with that role. Deleted Roles are generally non-recoverable)
  7. Once you Save, the user will gain access to the system and the license will be active.
